Pilots
AIRLINE, AEROMEDICAL, AGRICULTURAL, HELICOPTER, INSTRUCTOR, SEARCH & RESCUE and more...What’s one piece of advice you would give someone wanting to pursue a career in aviation?
What is your favourite part of the job?
I love the flying, it’s a nice aeroplane to handle, it has its quirks but it behaves the way you want it to. We fly out to really fun places and there’s the variety where you can take off from an international airport from one of the longest runways in the country and then land at one of the shortest runways used by an airline all in one flight. It keeps it interesting and challenging. For me it’s the perfect environment to be in.
A career path with plenty of options
You need a career that excites you and challenges you. You’re comfortable with responsibility, passionate about flying and technically minded. It’s a career path with plenty of options to grow as a person or take on more responsibility and every airline or operator is different. We’ve included snippets of info on different career options but we encourage you to get in touch with your local flying school or visit your local airport to see which airlines and operators are based there. The aviation industry is full of people passionate about what they do and eager to share that passion so ask them what type of flying they do and which job and career opportunities they offer.
Don’t live your life based on someone else’s fears.
